In the healthcare industry, there are many professionals are working to help those who are in need. Mostly people only notice physicians and nurses but there are other people too serving patients. You can see them working in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers and doctor’s offices.

In the healthcare field, there are different professionals to complete different tasks. Medical colleges and institutes in Manhattan and New York provide medical training in different specialities.

Here are some of these professionals:

Certified nurse assistant – Certified nurse assistant are trained professionals who assist a registered or licensed nurse with various treatments. They also help patients with their needs and personal tasks such as bathing, grooming, nutrition etc. They take care of their medication.

Medical biller – These billers take care of the billing at hospitals etc. They are trained in billing procedures as well as in coding. They also take of insurance process. They fill insurance forms and send them to the companies for claims. They maintain patient’s data and files.

Dialysis technician – Dialysis is an important treatment for those patients who are suffering from kidney failure. To do this treatment, there are professionals called dialysis technicians. They perform this task by operating a machine. With the dialysis equipment, wastes are removed from body. After completing this process, they make reports about it and monitor the condition of person.

Phlebotomy technician – In hospitals, when we need blood samples for different medical examinations, we need phlebotomy technicians for it.
They draw blood with different techniques to collect samples and send them into laboratories for further tests. They are also needed in blood banks for their skills.

EKG technician – They operate EKG machine to monitor electrical activities of heart. They keep an eye on the patient’s cardiovascular system. They attach electrodes of EKG machine to person’s arms, legs or chest to record the activities of heart.

Medical assistant – Medical assistants assist physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals with different treatments. They perform clinical tasks such as taking vitals as well as administrative tasks such as maintaining files, records, etc. They are trained in different procedures like phlebotomy, anatomy, EKG, and office work.

Patient care – Patient Care Technician or PCT are responsible for taking care of sick and injured. They assist sick persons with personal tasks such as bathing, feeding, grooming etc. They also make bed and collect samples for laboratories. They maintain medical records and bills. They also take vitals and manage injections, medication etc.
